    • Obituary:
Earl E. Stout, 76, of Emmett, Idaho, formerly of Pierce, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise.

A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24 at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise. Burial will occur at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell.

Earl was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Twin Falls, to Jess and Marie Stout. As a child, Earl lived in Missouri and Twin Falls. He left home at the age of 16 to work for the Hanford nuclear plant in Pasco as a mail carrier.

He met and married the love of his life, Bea Lingle, Nov. 25, 1948, in Kennewick. Soon after marriage they moved back to Twin Falls. In 1950 they moved to Pierce. They had seven children born to them.

Earl worked as a logger for Cardiff's mill, Carney poles and then Potlatch Forests.

He bought a home at Cardiff Spur, eight miles outside Pierce, and lived there for 37 years. He retired from Potlatch in 1986, and then in 1990 Earl and Bea moved to Emmett to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

During their years in Pierce, Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking berries, camping and watching people enjoy a ride in his boat on the lake. Many weekends were spent on a riverbank fishing and picnicking with his family. Earl enjoyed telling stories ofhis childhood and life. He would talk about times he spent with his brothers as children and fishing and hunting trips with his sons and sons-in-law. Earl was a very hard worker and taught his children to do the same. While living in Cardiff he raised many animals, planted a garden and enjoyed knowing that he was supplying for the needs of his wife and children.

In August of 1995 his wife Bea passed away and this shattered his heart. He often spoke of how he missed Bea and the time they had together.

Earl is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, ... ; two sons and their wives, ... ; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, ... .

He was preceded in death by his wife Bea Stout, daughter Sandra, son Steven and his parents.
