    • Obituary:
      Lipka, Leo G. -- Webster -- Born in Oswego, NY on March 12, 1923. Passed away on November 25, 2016 at age 93. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorothy, his parents Frank and Katherine, his brothers Benny, Johnny, Eddie, Frankie and Joey andhis sister Helen Gillen. Leo is survived by his loving partner, Cora Cala and her family Cheryl and Joe and many nieces and nephews.

      Leo was a meat-cutter in the Rochester area before becoming a Rochester City Firefighter, a position he held for 35 years. He retired at the age of 65 to enjoy life with his wife Dorothy on Lake Ontario, where they lived. He frequented OTB and the casinos as his new job! Leo was a veteran of WW II having served in the 3rd Infantry Division, 5th Allied Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his valor in action.

      Uncle Leo will be sadly missed especially by his nieces Cheryl Gillen and Joan Conners who visited him frequently at Hill Haven Nursing Home; his residence for the past five years. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides on Cobbs Hill Park-2Sfor their loving care of Leo, especially Linda, Lisa and Shantrell (Goldie).

      Calling hours will be held from 12-1 on Saturday, December 3, 2016 followed by a farewell service at Falvo Funeral Home, Rte. 250 in Webster, NY.

      Interment Irondequoit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Rochester City Firefighters or to a charity of your choice in Leo's name.
