    • Obituary:
      Hazel Ellen Allbee Holtry 72 died peacefully of cancer on Thursday April 21, 1994, in her home. Her four sons were with her at the time of herdeath. She had lived in the Olympia area for 34 years. She was born June 14, 1921 in Loyalton SD to Hazel Ellis and Henry Allbee and graduatedfrom high school in Aberdeen SD. She had eight sisters and three brothers. On June 17, 1942, she married William Bill H Holtry. They had beenmarried 36 years when he preceded her in death. As a young women she worked ina fur shop and later, during World War II, she worked as a riveterin a Boeing aircraft plant in Washington. She then dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, homemaker, and aid to those less fortunate. Thenshe also managed the Bigelow Apartments inOlympia for many years. Her family said that as a mother of four sons, Mrs Holtry's skills as apeacemaker brought stabilty to her family. The desire to set a christian example in every facet of life was her guiding principle. She marriedKenneth L Holtry on Nov 18, 1978. They enjoyed 15 happy years together and were able to travel to many areas in the United States. They alsotraveled to the holy land and Europe where they attended the passion play in Oberamergau, Germany. Ken preceded her in death onApril 6 1994. MrsHoltry was a member of The Evergreen Christian Center. She was active in church related activities her entire life and spent untold hoursvolunteering her labor for a variety of church functions and ministries. She and her husband enjoyed gardening and shared the fruits of their laborwith neighbors, friends, and relatives. Surviving Mrs Holtry are four sons, Dale, Salt Lake City; David, Orting; Larry, Beaverton OR; and Doug,Olympia; six sisters, Ruby Blanksma, Myrtle Point OR; MyrtleJohnson, Yakima; Billie Peissner, Rochester; Violet Smith, Centralia; Penny Holtry,Rapid City South Dakota; and Edna Stepanek, Pierre SD; two brothers Art Allbee, St Paul MN; and Melvin Allbee, Vancouver; her daughters in law;eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs Holtry will begin at 11 am Monday, April 25 in Evergreen ChristianCenter followed by a brief graveside service in Woodlawn Cemetery Lacey. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American CancerSociety.
