      Obituary:
      A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash., for Melvin J. Allbee,who died Jan. 24 at age 77.

      Mr. Allbee was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Loyalton, S.D. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Vancouver in 1951 and was amail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in Portland from 1952 until his retirement in 1968. In 1946, he married Betty Miles.

      Survivors include his wife; son, Roger; brother, Arthur; sisters, Ruby Blanksma, Edna Stepanek, Myrtle Johnson, Violet Smith, and Billie Piesner;two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      The family suggests remembrances to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
