- Beverly, Mass., Nov. 11 - A wedding of interest to New Yorkers took place this afternoon at Ledgewood, the home of Mrs. Henry W. Peabody at Montserrat Highlands, where her daughter, Miss Norma Waterbury, Vassar graduate, and a member of the Woman's Boardof Missions, became the bride of Dr. Raphael Clarke Thomas, pastor of the Second Avenue Baptist Church, New York City. The wedding was preceded by a large luncheon, at which there were many New York guests. President W. H. P. Faunce of Brown University atProvidence, R. I. officiated at the ceremony, assisted by Dr. John H.Mason of Beverly. There were no attendants. Following the wedding, there was a reception.
Dr. Thomas is a graduate of Harvard and the Harvard Medical School, and the Newton Theological Seminary. Besides his church duties, he is in charge of the out-patient clinic at St. Mark's Hospital, New York City.
After the wedding Dr. and Mrs. Thomas left for a honeymoon in the White Mountains. They will go to New York and will have a reception at the MurrayHill Hotel on Nov. 25 for New York friends. Dr. and Mrs. Thomas will sail on Dec. 8 from San Francisco for Iloilo in Philippines, where Dr. Thomas is to have charge of the Union Hospital, a medical mission.
